Self-Diagnostic System

Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under driver's side of instrument panel, left of steering column. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, retrieve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) from all modules. Scan tool can be used to read switch status and actuate system components. If any DTCs exist, perform appropriate test(s). See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION table. If no DTCs exist, repair by symptom. See SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION table. If communication was not established with any module, perform PCI BUS COMMUNICATION FAILURE under COMMUNICATIONS under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article. For all diagnostic testing, see BODY CONTROL MODULES - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article. After repairs, ensure all problems or failures have been corrected. Perform appropriate VERIFICATION TEST. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. After clearing DTCs, power sliding door must be reinitializes. See POWER LIFTGATE & POWER SLIDING DOOR LEARN CYCLE under PROGRAMMING.
