1. Check Pcm For Internal Failure DTC

NOTE: This DTC will not turn on the Check Engine light.

Turn the ignition on.

With the DRB III(R), erase DTCs.

Turn the ignition off, then back on.

Monitor the DRB III(R) for this DTC.

With the DRB III(R), read DTCs.

Did the DTC P1386: KNOCK SENSOR SYSTEM FAILURE set again? 

  1. Yes  >> Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module. See ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES article.

    See POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - VER 2  .

  2. No  >> Go To 2
