Condenser Fan Control Relay

  1. Remove relay from underhood relay/fuse box. See Fig 1 . Using DVOM, measure resistance between relay terminals No. 1 and 3. If resistance is 2 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 2 ohms, replace relay.
  2. Using DVOM, check continuity between relay terminals No. 2 and 4. If continuity is not indicated, go to next step. If continuity is indicated, replace relay.
  3. Using jumper wires, connect battery voltage to terminal No. 1 and battery ground to terminal No. 3. See Fig 1 . Using DVOM, measure resistance between relay terminals No. 2 and 4. If resistance is greater than 2 ohms, replace relay. If resistance is 2 ohms or less, test is complete.
