Using DVOM

  1. Disconnect IAC motor. IAC motor is located directly below throttle opening. Measure resistance between IAC motor connector terminal No. 2 and either terminal No. 1 or 3 (component side). See Figure . Resistance should be 28-33 ohms at 68°F (20°C). If resistance is not as specified, replace IAC motor. If resistance is as specified, go to next step.
  2. Measure resistance between IAC motor connector terminal No. 5 and either terminal No. 4 or 6 (component side). Resistance should be 28-33 ohms at 68°F (20°C). If resistance is not as specified, replace IAC motor. If resistance is as specified, test is complete.
