Removal & Installation
NOTE:
BCM is attached to junction block. Junction block must be removed to enable removal of BCM. Junction block is located behind left side of instrument panel. See Figure
and Fig 1
.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Open driver's door. Pry off left instrument panel end cap. Remove 2 left side under dash cover screws. Remove left side under dash cover. Remove deck lid switch and wiring.
- Remove left knee bolster. Remove ducts under steering column. Disconnect connectors from junction block. Remove 4 junction block screws. Remove junction block. Disconnect BCM connectors. Remove RKE antenna connector (if equipped). Remove 3 RKE module-to-BCM screws. Remove RKE module. Remove 4 BCM-to-junction block screws. Separate BCM from junction block.
- To install, transfer RKE module to replacement BCM. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Program replacement BCM and enable VTSS (if equipped). See BODY CONTROL MODULE under PROGRAMMING.
