Timing Control

Timing is controlled by Engine Control Module (M/T) or Powertrain Control Module (A/T) and cannot be adjusted. Do not rotate distributor to adjust timing. To check timing, using scan tool, perform actuator test No. 17: BASIC IGNITION TIMING. See ACTUATOR TESTS  . If timing is not within specification, check for abnormal sensor disk or sensor face making contact with trigger wheel. Repair or replace as necessary.
