No Response From PCM (CCD)

NOTE: Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS after each repair.

Possible Causes:

  1. Does Engine Start
  2. CCD Bus (+) Open To PCM
  3. CCD Bus (-) Open To PCM
  4. No Response From PCM

Testing

  1. Attempt to start engine. If engine starts, go to next step. If engine does not start, repair no-start condition. See appropriate BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector C3. Check and repair connectors as necessary. Turn ignition on. Using jumper wire, connect PCM connector C3 terminal No. 30 (Violet/Brown wire) to ground. See Figure . Using scan tool, perform CCD BUS TEST. If scan tool does not display SHORT TO GROUND, repair open in Violet/Brown wire. If scan tool displays SHORT TO GROUND, go to next step.
  3. Remove jumper wire. Using jumper wire, connect PCM connector C3 terminal No. 28 (White/Black wire) to ground. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, perform CCD bus test. If scan tool displays SHORT TO GROUND, replace PCM. If scan tool does not display SHORT TO GROUND, repair open in White/Black wire.
