Internal ROM Test Failed

NOTE: Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS after each repair

Monitored & Set Condition

  1. When Monitored: Monitored continuously when the ignition is ON.
  2. Set Condition: An internal CTM failure condition exists for when an internal test checks the CTM's RAM capability fails.

Possible Causes:

  1. CTM Internal ROM Test Failed

Testing

  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). Turn ignition off. Wait 15 seconds Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If scan tool displays INTERNAL ROM TEST FAILED, replace central timer module. See CENTRAL TIMER MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If scan tool does not display INTERNAL ROM TEST FAILED, test is complete.
