RKE Inoperative
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Ensure the RKE module is configured for RKE and the M1 (IOD) fuse is installed. Ensure the voltage of each battery is greater than 3.0 volts before proceeding. Using the DRBIII select BODY, THEFT ALARM, VTSS, MISCELLANEOUS then RKE FOB & MODULE TEST. Follow the instructions on the DRBIII screen. Try the door locks using the original transmitter. If the door locks respond properly to the transmitter commands, using the DRBIII, program the transmitter and recheck the system. If okay, program all transmitters that will be used with this vehicle. If the door locks did not respond properly to the transmitter commands, go to the next step.
- Secure a known good transmitter from another PT vehicle. Using the DRBIII select BODY, THEFT ALARM, VTSS, MISCELLANEOUS then RKE FOB & MODULE TEST. Follow the instructions on the DRBIII screen. Try the door locks using the transmitter. If the door locks respond properly to the transmitter commands, replace the original transmitter. Program all transmitters that will be used with this vehicle. If the door locks did not respond properly to the transmitter commands, go to the next step.
- If there are no possible causes remaining, replace the remote keyless entry module. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
