Fuel Rail: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Dodge Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Concorde, and 2003 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Lightly lubricate the fuel injector "O" rings with a couple drops of clean engine oil. Install retaining clips on fuel injectors.
  2. Push injectors into fuel injector rail until clips are in the correct position. Position fuel rail over cylinder heads, and push rail into place.
  3. Install and tighten fuel rail bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install fuel supply line on fuel rail using proper procedure. See FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGS .
  5. Connect the electrical connectors to the fuel injectors. Install intake manifold plenum. Connect negative cable to battery.
    NOTE: Ensure injector wiring harness is in correct position and does not interfere with upper intake manifold installation.
