Fuel Rail & Injectors: Installation

  1. Install NEW "O" rings on injectors before installing. Lubricate "O" rings with clean engine oil. Ensure injector rotates smoothly in fuel rail after installing. If injector does not rotate smoothly in fuel rail, check for improper "O" ring installation. Install retaining clip on injector and fuel rail.
  2. Install fuel rail with fuel injectors. Install and tighten fuel rail bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install fuel supply line on fuel rail using proper procedure. See FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGS .
    NOTE: On 2.7L, ensure injector wiring harness is in correct position and does not interfere with upper intake manifold installation.
  3. To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure. Install upper intake manifold. See appropriate article in ENGINES.
