Removal (2.7L)

EGR valve is located at rear of right cylinder head. Disconnect negative battery cable at remote battery terminal on passenger's side strut tower. Loosen clamp at air intake hose on throttle body. Remove air cleaner housing and air inlet hose. Disconnect EGR valve assembly harness connector.
Remove EGR upper pipe-to-EGR valve assembly bolts. See Fig 2. Remove EGR valve assembly bolts. Remove EGR lower pipe-to-exhaust manifold bolts. Remove EGR valve and tube as an assembly. Clean gasket surfaces.
