ORC Messages Not Received

NOTE: Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) may also be referred to as Air Bag Control Module (ACM). After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). If scan tool communicates with ORC, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with ORC, go to NO RESPONSE FROM ORC  .
  2. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Turn ignition off and on. Wait a minimum of one minute. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC resets, replace Body Control Module (BCM). See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If DTC does not reset, testing is complete.
