Power Mirror System

  1. If only one mirror is inoperative, diagnose and repair mirror. See POWER MIRROR MOTOR  under COMPONENT TESTS. If both mirrors are inoperative, check fuse No. 18 (20-amp), located in Intelligent Power Module (IPM). If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, repair short to ground on circuit or component.
  2. Check voltage at mirror switch connector terminal No. 9 (Light Green/Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open circuit in Light Green/Red wire.
  3. Disconnect mirror switch connector. Check continuity between harness connector terminal No. 11 (Black/Light Green wire) and ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open circuit in Black/Light Green wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, check switch. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS.
