Customer Learn Method

NOTE: Following procedure requires a functional transmitter. If a functional transmitter is not available, program RKE module using scan tool. See TRANSMITTER (SCAN TOOL METHOD) . All transmitters must be programmed at the same time. If a transmitter is not available when programming transmitters, it will no longer function.
NOTE: Only transmitters programmed to RKE module and Memory Seat Mirror Module (MSMM) will activate memory system recall (if equipped) when doors are locked and unlocked. After new transmitters are programmed, perform memory programming. See PROGRAMMING in MEMORY SYSTEMS - TOWN & COUNTRY article.
  1. If vehicle is equipped with anti-theft system, ensure system is in disarm mode. Ensure transmitter batteries have about 3.2 volts each. Turn ignition on. Place transmission in Park.
  2. Using a previously programmed transmitter, press and hold unlock button 5-10 seconds. After holding unlock button down for a minimum of 5 seconds, press and hold panic button, then release both buttons simultaneously. Chime should sound once to indicate Body Control Module (BCM) has recognized RKE transmitter programming.
  3. Press and release lock and unlock buttons simultaneously. Then press and release any button on transmitter. Chime should sound once to indicate RKE module has accepted the transmitter signal.
  4. Repeat step  3 for all transmitters that will be used by vehicle. Up to a total of 4 transmitters can be programmed. Programming mode will last for 30 seconds after programming transmitter. A chime will sound after 30 seconds to indicate programming has automatically cancelled. To manually exit programming mode, turn ignition off.
