Data Link Connector

The Data Link Connector (DLC) is a 16-pin connector located below driver's side of instrument panel. See Fig 1 . The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) contains a self-diagnostic system which stores a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) if an electronic control system failure exists. DTC may be retrieved from PCM for system diagnosis by using Data Link Connector (DLC) and a scan tool. The DLC also provides a means to communicate with various vehicle control modules, check system operating conditions and to operate various system components. For additional information on using DLC and scan tool usage, see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article.
