Right Sliding Door Ajar Switch Sense Circuit Open
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Disconnect right sliding door lock motor/ajar switch in-line connector located at bottom of sliding door. See Figure . Using scan tool, select INPUTS/OUTPUTS and monitor RSLIDE DR AJAR SW state. Connect a fused jumper wire between ground and in-line connector terminal No. 3 (Black/Dark Green wire). See Figure . If RSLIDE DR AJAR SW state changes from OPEN to CLOSED, go to next step. If RSLIDE DR AJAR SW state does not change from OPEN to CLOSED, go to step 4 .
- Reconnect in-line connector located at bottom of sliding door. Remove door panel from sliding door. For removal and installation procedures, see POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. On manual sliding doors, disconnect sliding door lock motor/ajar switch connector. Connect a fused jumper between ground and connector terminal No. 3 (Black/Dark Green wire). See Figure . On power sliding doors, disconnect sliding door latch sensing switch connector. Connect a fused jumper between ground and connector terminal No. 3 (Tan/Orange wire). See Figure . Monitor RSLIDE DR AJAR SW state. On all doors, if RSLIDE DR AJAR SW state changes from OPEN to CLOSED, go to next step. If RSLIDE DR AJAR SW state does not change from OPEN to CLOSED, repair open in circuit between ajar switch and in-line connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS in POWER DOOR LOCKS & LIFTGATE RELEASE - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article.
- Monitor RSLIDE DR AJAR SW state. On manual sliding doors, connect a fused jumper between sliding door lock motor/ajar switch connector terminals No. 3 (Black/Dark Green wire) and No. 4 (Black wire). On power sliding doors, connect a fused jumper between sliding door latch sensing switch connector terminals No. 3 (Tan/Orange wire) and No. 4 (Black/Yellow wire). On all doors, if RSLIDE DR AJAR SW state changes from OPEN to CLOSED, replace sliding door lock motor/ajar switch (power sliding doors) or sliding door latch sensing switch (manual sliding doors). For removal & installation procedures, see POWER SLIDING DOORS & LIFTGATE - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article. On manual sliding doors, if RSLIDE DR AJAR SW state does not change from OPEN to CLOSED, repair open in Black wire between ajar switch and ground. On power sliding doors, if RSLIDE DR AJAR SW state does not change from OPEN to CLOSED, repair open in Black/Yellow wire between ajar switch and sliding door control module connector C2 terminal No. 20. See Figure .
- Locate Body Control Module (BCM) connector C3. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . See Figure . Monitor RSLIDE DR AJAR SW state. Using a fused jumper wire connected to ground, backprobe BCM connector C3 terminal No. 5 (Violet/Yellow wire). If RSLIDE DR AJAR SW state does not change from OPEN to CLOSED, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If RSLIDE DR AJAR SW state changes from OPEN to CLOSED, repair open in Violet/Yellow wire between in-line connector and BCM.
