Left Front Door Ajar Switch Sense Circuit Shorted To Ground

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Open driver's door. Using scan tool, select INPUTS/OUTPUTS and monitor DR DOOR AJAR SW state. On vehicles with power door locks, disconnect driver's door lock motor/ajar switch connector. See Figure . See POWER DOOR LOCKS & LIFTGATE RELEASE - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article. On vehicles without power door locks, disconnect driver's door ajar switch connector. If DR DOOR AJAR SW state does not change from CLOSED to OPEN, go to next step. If DR DOOR AJAR SW state changes from CLOSED to OPEN, replace driver's door lock motor/ajar switch (with power locks) or driver's door ajar switch (without power locks).
  2. Locate and disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C3. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . See Figure . Using a test light connected to battery voltage, probe BCM connector C3 terminal No. 6 (Violet wire). If test light illuminates, repair short to ground in Violet wire between driver's door lock motor/ajar switch (with power locks) or driver's door ajar switch (without power locks) and BCM. If test light does not illuminate, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
