Power Door Locks

Body Control Module (BCM) receives inputs from power door lock switches, Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system and door key cylinder switches (on models with VTSS). BCM will then send lock/unlock command to door lock actuators. If door lock switch or door key is sensed by BCM as being pressed for more than 10 seconds (switch stuck), DTC will set. Signal inputs will then be ignored until stuck condition is no longer sensed.

RKE module communicates with BCM using a one-way serial bus line. RKE module is not part of PCI bus system. RKE module sends signals to the BCM indicating what function has been requested by the transmitter. BCM does not communicate to the RKE module.
