No TCM Bus Messages Received

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Transmission Control Module (TCM). If scan tool does not communicate with Transmission Control Module (TCM), diagnose communication problem. See BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN OR NO RESPONSE FROM TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE  under COMMUNICATIONS. If scan tool is communicates with TCM, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, erase DTCS. Cycle ignition off and on and wait about one minute. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC resets, replace instrument cluster. If DTC does not reset, no problem is indicated at this time. Test is complete.
