RKE Transmitter
NOTE:
For more information, see TSB REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) PROGRAMMING PROCEDURES
.
Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed to a vehicle. To program transmitters, perform the following:
- On 2000 models, using a functional RKE transmitter, unlock and disarm Vehicle Theft Security System. On all models, turn ignition switch to RUN position with vehicle in Park. Using a previously programmed transmitter, press and hold the UNLOCK button for a 5-10 seconds.
- While holding UNLOCK button, and before ten seconds passes, press the PANIC button and then release both buttons simultaneously. A single chime will sound to verify that RKE module is set to accept transmitter programming.
- Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed within a 30 second time window. Press and release both LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on a transmitter at the same time, then press any of the buttons once. A beep should sound when transmitter has been successfully programmed. Repeat with each additional transmitter to be programmed to vehicle. A chime will sound when the 30 second time window has passed, or programming will end when ignition switch is turned to OFF position.
- If a functional transmitter is not available, a DRB III® scan tool can be used to program the RKE module.
