PCI Bus Failure
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition off, and then on. Wait 20 seconds. Check for DTC. If PCI Bus Communication trouble code is present, go to next step. If DTC is not present, go to step 6.
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read DTCs in Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MCI). If MCI reads, ABS Message Not Received By MIC go to appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If ABS Message Not Received By MIC is not present, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect CAB connector. Measure resistance of PCI bus circuit (Violet/Yellow wire) between CAB connector and DLC. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Violet/Yellow wire. Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect CAB connector. Turn ignition on. Using DRB III Lab Scope. Measure voltage of PCI Bus circuit (Violet/Yellow wire). If voltage is more than .4 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than .4 volts, go to step 6.
- If there are no potential causes remaining, replace CAB. Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
- Turn ignition off. Check wiring harness and connectors for chafed, pierced, pinched or broken wires, and broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals. If problems are present, repair as necessary. Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. If problems are not present, test is complete.
