Description & Operation

Both outside rearview power mirrors are controlled by a single electric remote control switch assembly located on driver's door trim panel. See Fig 1 . The rocker button switch uses "L" (left) and "R" (right) for mirror selection and a round platform which is tilted in direction of desired mirror movement. The power mirror motors are an integral part of mirror assembly and cannot be replaced separately.

On vehicles equipped with memory/heated seats, the Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) activates the mirror motors in recall mode. (MHSMM) communicates with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system through the Programmable Communication Interface (PCI) bus (Violet/Yellow wire). MHSMM settings can be programmed and recalled by RKE module. Up to 2 positions can be programmed in memory. Memory is retained by MHSMM. For more information, see POWER SEATS - LHS & 300M article.

Vehicles are equipped with an automatic day/night (dimming) inside rearview mirror. When activated, mirror will automatically adjust to reduce headlight glare. Pressing AUTO button on base of interior rearview mirror activates dimming feature and Green indicator light in button. See Fig 2 .

Optional heated outside mirrors are available. Heated mirror is activated whenever the rear defogger is on. Only models equipped with rear window defogger and memory system are available with heated mirrors. A timer turns off mirror heater after about 15 minutes. For more information, see REAR WINDOW DEFOGGERS & HEATED MIRRORS - CONCORDE, INTREPID, LHS & 300M article.
