Seat Motor

NOTE: This test will by-pass power seat switch to determine if switch or specified motor is at fault.
  1. Remove power seat position switch and disconnect switch from wiring harness. See POWER SEAT SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check voltage between terminals No. 5 (Black wire) and No. 1 (Red wire) at power seat switch harness connector. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in power or ground circuits.
  2. Using 2 jumper wires, connect one jumper wire to battery supply. Connect second jumper wire to chassis ground. Connect other end of wires to appropriate terminals at power seat switch harness connector. See POWER SEAT MOTOR TESTS  table to check seat action. Observe motor operation. If motor does not operate as specified, check wiring between power seat switch connector and suspect motor. If wiring is okay, replace motor. See POWER SEAT MOTORS  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
