NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.

Possible Causes:

Testing

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Close all doors. Using scan tool, read DOOR AJAR status. If scan tool displays CLOSED for any door, perform appropriate DOOR AJAR CKT STG test under DOOR AJAR SYSTEM  . If scan tool displays OPEN for all door, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, retrieve Powertrain Control Module (PCM) DTCs. If no PCM DTCs exist, go to next step. If any PCM DTCs exist, see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  3. Using scan tool, read AUTO DOOR LOCK status. If scan tool displays ENABLED, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If scan tool does not display ENABLED, enable auto door locks using scan tool.
