Junction Block: Removal

- Disconnect and isolate negative battery connection at the right front strut tower.
- Using a brake pedal holding tool, depress brake pedal past first 1" of travel and secure in this position. This will isolate the master cylinder reservoir from the hydraulic brake system, not allowing the brake fluid to drain out of the reservoir.
- Remove screw fastening the cruise control servo to the upper radiator closure panel. See Figure .
- Remove screw fastening the washer filler tube to the upper radiator closure panel. See Figure .
- Remove nut and screw securing TCM to vehicle. See Figure .
- Lift the TCM (with cruise control servo attached) from its mount leaving its wiring harness attached. Move it off to the side toward the engine, making sure not to strain the wires and cruise control servo cable.
- Clean any debris away from the fittings on top of the junction block.
- Remove the 2 brake lines coming from the primary and secondary master cylinder ports at the junction block. See Figure .
- Remove the 4 chassis brake lines going to each brake, mounted across the front top of the junction block. See Figure .
- There are 2 bolts fastening the junction block and mounting bracket to the engine cable crossmember. Remove the outboard bolt fastening the mounting bracket to the engine cradle crossmember.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Loosen, but DO NOT remove, the remaining mounting bolt fastening the junction block mounting bracket to the engine cradle crossmember. See Figure .
- Pivot the junction block and bracket forward on the remaining mounting block and bracket from the vehicle.
