Vehicle Theft Security System
Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) is armed by locking the vehicle using the door lock switch, door lock key or Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter when all doors are closed. If vehicle is locked by manually pushing down the door lock mechanism, alarm will not arm. The sun sensor/VTSS Light Emitting Diode (LED) will flash quickly for 16 seconds indicating the system is arming. After 16 seconds, LED should flash slower; indicating the system is fully armed. If LED comes on, but does not flash, the system is still armed, but there is a problem with the trunk circuit.
VTSS is disarmed through normal vehicle entry of unlocking door with door lock key or RKE system. Whenever battery power is lost or disconnected, VTSS will prevent vehicle from starting. When battery power is restored, system must be disarmed before vehicle will start.
VTSS can be triggered from doors, trunk key cylinder and ignition switch. VTSS is equipped with a tamper alert signal, indicating VTSS has been triggered (vehicle has been tampered with). When either front door is unlocked with key or RKE, the horn will sound 3 times.
