Removal, Disassembly, Reassembly & Installation: Notes

CAUTION: Front wheel bearing will be damaged if vehicle weight is supported by wheels when front axle shaft hub nut is loosened or removed.

NOTE: Disassembly and reassembly of front axle shaft assemblies is done to replace CV boots ONLY. If any component other than CV boots are damaged, front axle shaft must be replaced as an assembly.

NOTE: Two different types of inner CV boots are used. High temperature applications use silicone rubber boots. Standard temperature applications use Hytrel plastic CV boots that are stiff and rigid. Replacement CV boot MUST be of same material as CV boot that was removed.
