Passenger's Door Key CYL Arm SW Failure

  1. Using scan tool, clear any diagnostic trouble code. Using scan tool, read passenger's door zone switch voltage. If PASSENGER DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 4 volts, inspect for binding passenger's door key lock. Replace door key lock as necessary. If PASSENGER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 4 volts, go to next step.
  2. Turn passenger's door key cylinder switch to lock position and passenger's door zone switch observe voltage on scan tool. Do not hold key in lock position for more than 7 seconds or code will set. If PASSENGER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 4 volts, go to next step. If PASSENGER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 4 volts, replace passenger's door key cylinder switch.
  3. Operate passenger's door key lock cylinder several times from unlock to lock position. Release key lock cylinder. With key lock cylinder in neutral position, observe scan tool voltage. If PASSENGER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 5 volts, system is functioning properly at this time. Fault may be intermittent. If PASSENGER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 5 volts, replace passenger's door key cylinder switch.
