Driver's Door Unlock Switch Failure

  1. Using scan tool, clear any diagnostic trouble codes. Using scan tool, read driver's door zone switch voltage. If DRIVER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about one volt, replace driver's door lock switch. If DRIVER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about one volt, go to next step.
  2. Operate driver's door lock switch to unlock position and observe driver's door zone switch voltage on scan tool. Do not hold switch in unlock position for more than 7 seconds or code will set. If DRIVER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about one volt, go to next step. If DRIVER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about one volt, replace driver's door lock switch.
  3. Operate driver's door lock switch several times from lock to unlock position. Release switch. With switch in neutral position, observe scan tool voltage. If DRIVER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 5 volts, system is functioning properly at this time. Fault may be intermittent. If DRIVER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 5 volts, replace driver's door lock switch.
