Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS): Notes

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off before disconnecting any control module connectors. Failure to do so could result in damage to control module. When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
NOTE: In the event of replacing the Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) all existing ignition keys will need to be programmed into new SKIM. Obtain all customer ignition keys before performing diagnosis. After replacing SKIM, SKIM must be initialized. Go to SKIM MODULE  under PROGRAMMING.
NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
NOTE: For Vehicle Theft/Security System (VTSS) wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS in appropriate ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS article.
