Test NTC-44: Downstream Ho2S Circuit

  1. Check downstream Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S). See SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - CARS - AVENGER & SEBRING COUPE article. Replace HO2S as necessary. If HO2S is okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect downstream left and right HO2S connectors. Check for continuity between ground and Black/Green wire at downstream HO2S harness connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check for open in Black/Green wire between HO2S and terminal No. 43 at PCM harness connector A-78. Circuit runs through junction connector No. 3. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair wiring as necessary.
  3. Inspect HO2S connector for damaged pins, corrosion or loose terminals. Repair connector as necessary. If connector is okay, check circuit between HO2S and PCM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace PCM.
