Analog Instrument Panels: Description
Standard instrument cluster gauges include coolant temperature, fuel level and speedometer. See Fig 1 . Optional instrument cluster gauges include coolant temperature, fuel level, speedometer and tachometer. See Fig 2 . All gauges are magnetic type. Speedometer and odometer are electronically driven. Gauges are not serviceable separately and must be replace as one unit with instrument cluster.
With ignition off, gauge pointers should rest at or below low graduation. Gauge readings are accurate ONLY when ignition is on. Daytime Running Light (DRL) module is built into cluster.
Low fuel level and oil pressure are indicated by warning lights. Other indicator and warning lights include ABS, AIR BAG, battery (charging system), BRAKE, cruise control, door ajar, foglight, high beam, low fuel, oil pressure, CHECK ENGINE, seat belt reminder, traction control and turn signals. Instrument panel switches include traction control and rear defogger. When ignition is turned on, all indicators will light briefly for a bulb check. Some indicators use bulbs and some use LEDs. All instrument cluster indicators are serviceable.
