Test 1A: Identifying System Problems
NOTE:
- Ensure battery is fully charged. Connect DRB to data link connector. Ensure communication exists with mechanical instrument cluster, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Occupant Restraint Controller/Air Bag Control Module (ORC/ACM) before proceeding. If any communication problems exist, go to TEST 1A: VEHICLE COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS under VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS.
- Using DRB, read and record both active and stored codes. If any of following codes (active or stored) are present, replace ORC/ACM.
- ACCELEROMETER (active or stored code)
- FIRING STORED ENERGY (active or stored code)
- INTERNAL #1 (active or stored code)
- INTERNAL #2 (active or stored code)
- NO PCI TRANSMISSION (active Code)
- OUTPUT DRIVER #1 (active or stored code)
- OUTPUT DRIVER #2 (active or stored code)
- If any other active codes are present, perform appropriate diagnostic test. See DIAGNOSTIC FAULT MESSAGES table. If any other stored codes are present, go to TEST 1B: REPAIRING STORED CODES .
