Junction Block: Installation
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2004 Dodge Intrepid, 2004 Chrysler Intrepid, 2004 Chrysler Concorde, 2004 Chrysler 300M, and 2003 Dodge Intrepid. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- If not already installed, install, but do not tighten, the one bolt in the junction block bracket.
- Install the junction block with mounting bracket onto the engine cradle crossmember guiding the installed bolt into the slot in the engine cradle crossmember.
- Align the remaining mounting bolt hole in the junction block bracket with its mounting hole in the engine crossmember and install, but do tighten, the remaining mounting bolt.
- Tighten the first mounting bolt (installed in engine cradle crossmember slot) to 19 ft. lbs. (26 N.m) with the aid of a crow foot wrench.
- Lower the vehicle to the ground.
- Tighten the remaining junction block bracket-to-engine cradle crossmember mounting bolt to 19 ft. lbs. (26 N.m).
- Install the 4 chassis brake tubes (going to each brake) to the junction block. Tighten the tube fittings to 13 ft. lbs. (17 N.m) with the aid of a crow foot wrench.
- Install the 2 brake tubes coming from the primary and secondary master cylinder ports to the top rear corners of the junction block. Tighten the tube fittings to 13 ft. lbs. (17 N.m) torque with the aid of a crow foot wrench.
- Install the transmission control module (with speed control servo attached) in its normal position. Install the nut and screw securing it in place.
- Install the transmission control module mounting nut and screw securing it in place. Tighten the screw to 53.1 INCH lbs. (6 N.m). Tighten the nut to 107 INCH lbs. (12 N.m).
- Install the screw attaching the washer filler tube to the upper radiator closure panel.
- Install the screw attaching the speed control servo to the upper radiator closure panel.
- Remove the brake pedal holding tool.
- Bleed the base brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
