Manual Bleeding

NOTE: An assistant is required for manual bleeding.
  1. Fill master cylinder (if necessary). Reinstall master cylinder cap. Install clear hose onto right rear bleed screw. Place other end of hose into clean, transparent container of brake fluid.
  2. CAUTION: Open bleeder screw at least one full turn when instructed. If bleeder screw is not opened sufficiently, a slow, weak fluid discharge will result, leaving air in lines and valves.
  3. Pump brake pedal 3-4 times. Hold brake pedal downward. Open bleed screw at least one full turn. Brake pedal will drop to the floor. Continue holding brake pedal downward. Close bleed screw. Release brake pedal. Repeat bleeding procedure until brake fluid flow is clear and free of bubbles. Bleed remaining brakelines in proper sequence at each wheel. See BRAKELINE BLEEDING SEQUENCE  table. If brake pedal travel is excessive or has not improved, some air may still be in system. Repeat bleeding as necessary. Ensure bleed screws are tightened to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
