Washer Fluid Level Indicator Inoperative

  1. Check for loose fluid level sensor connector. Repair as necessary. Using DVOM, check resistance in Black/Tan wire between washer fluid level sensor connector terminal No. 2 and instrument panel cluster connector C2 terminal No. 4. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Tan wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Using DVOM, check resistance in Black wire between washer fluid level sensor connector terminal No. 1 and ground. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Check for defective instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - CONCORDE, INTREPID, LHS & 300M article. Repair as necessary. If instrument cluster is okay, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect washer fluid level sensor connector. Using DVOM, check resistance between washer fluid level sensor terminals. Fill and empty reservoir while monitoring DVOM reading. If resistance does not switch between continuity and open, replace washer fluid level sensor. See WASHER PUMP MOTOR & SENSOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
