Removal & Installation (Cirrus, Sebring Convertible & Stratus - 2.5L)
- EGR valve assembly is located at driver's side end of front exhaust manifold. Manufacturer states EGR solenoid and EGR valve assembly must be serviced as an assembly, as EGR valve and EGR solenoid are calibrated together. EGR solenoid is located on engine, near valve cover. See Figure.
- Disconnect necessary electrical connectors and vacuum hoses for removal of EGR valve assembly and EGR solenoid. Remove retaining screws from EGR solenoid.
- Transmission Control Module (TCM) be moved upward for access to EGR valve assembly. Remove retaining screws from TCM. TCM is located at driver's side front corner of engine compartment, near power distribution center. See Fig 1. Move TCM upward.
- Remove EGR pipe-to-EGR valve assembly bolts. Remove bolts, EGR valve assembly and gasket along with EGR solenoid.
- To install, reverse removal procedure using NEW gasket. Ensure all bolts are loosely installed in EGR pipe and EGR valve assembly before tightening to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
