DTC P0460: Fuel Level Sending Unit No Change Over Miles

NOTE: For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
NOTE: Possible causes are: fuel level sending unit defective or wiring harness failure.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, observe fuel level sensor voltage. Record voltage. Add 2 gallons of fuel to vehicle. Using scan tool, observe fuel level sensor voltage. Compare voltage with recorded voltage. If voltage decreased by at least .2 volts, go to next step. If voltage did not decrease by at least .2 volts, check for an obstruction in fuel tank. If no obstruction is present in fuel tank, replace fuel level sensor. Perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST FOR NON-OBD II  .
  2. Turn ignition off. Inspect wiring and connectors for damage. If wiring and connectors are okay, test is complete. If wiring and connectors are not okay, repair or replace as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST FOR NON-OBD II  .
