Description & Operation

Power windows are operated by a permanent magnet type electric motor mounted in each door. Master control switch provides ground to each motor. Circuit breaker No. 19 (20-amp), located in junction block, is used to protect power window circuit. Changing polarity at each motor will cause motor to rotate in reverse direction.

Driver's master control switch has a lock-out feature that restricts passenger window operation when it is engaged. All switches are illuminated with LEDs located inside switch. LEDs have power all the time, except when lock-out feature is engaged.

Power window system utilizes a window drop relay assembly that allow windows to be automatically lowered when convertible top is raised or lowered. Assembly consists of 2 relays and a window timer module, all located inside driver's door. When power top switch is pressed up or down, windows are lowered about 1-3 inches so windows are clear of top while raising or lowering.
