Skis Test 2A - Transponder CRC Failure

NOTE: Perform SKIS TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. If a transponder GO/NO-GO tester is not available, go to next step. Place key in transponder GO/NO-GO tester. If transponder passes test, replace smart key immobolizer module. Perform SKIM INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  . If transponder does not pass test, erase SKIM DTCs. Replace and program new key.
  2. Using another vehicle key, place key in ignition and turn ignition on. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Cycle ignition off, and then on. Allow ignition to be on for at least 90 seconds before retrieving DTCs. Read SKIM DTCs. If original DTC reoccurs, replace replace smart key immobolizer module. Perform SKIM INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  . If DTC is no longer present, erase SKIM DTCs. Replace and program new key.
