Engine Controls - Tests W/Codes - 2.5L VIN [N]: Introduction: Notes

CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and energy systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

Perform all steps in appropriate BASIC TESTING - 2.5L article. If no fault is found while performing BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES, proceed with self-diagnostics. If no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) or only pass codes (system functioning properly) are found during self-diagnostics, proceed to TESTS W/O CODES - 2.5L article for diagnosis by symptom.
