Clearing Trouble Codes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Eagle Vision, 1995 Dodge Intrepid, and 1995 Chrysler Concorde. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Trouble codes can also be cleared in READ TROUBLE CODES option of scan tool. To ensure that all trouble codes are read, it is advisable to use READ TROUBLE CODES option to erase trouble codes. See SCAN TOOL DIAGNOSTIC MODE under ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS  .
  1. If scan tool is not available, go to step 3). If scan tool is available, enter SPEED CONTROL MENU. See SCAN TOOL TEST FUNCTIONS. At SPEED CONTROL MENU, press "5" (ADJUSTMENTS) key. Press ENTER key. At ADJUSTMENTS menu, press "1" (ERASE TROUBLE CODES) key. Press ENTER key.
  2. Scan tool will display ERASE TROUBLE CODES ARE YOU SURE? (ENTER TO ERASE). Press ENTER key. When scan tool is finished erasing trouble codes, screen will display TROUBLE CODES ERASED.
  3. If scan tool is not available, trouble codes may be cleared by disconnecting negative battery cable for at least 15 seconds, allowing PCM to clear trouble codes.
TROUBLE CODES

Code Display On Scan Tool
15 (1) NO VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL
34 (2) SPEED CONTROL SOLENOID CIRCUITS
77 (3) SPEED CONTROL POWER RELAY CIRCUIT
(1) No vehicle speed sensor signal detected during road load conditions.
(2) An open or shorted condition detected in cruise control vacuum or vent solenoid circuits.
(3) An open or shorted condition detected in cruise control power relay circuit.
