Test 133C - Bus Short To Battery

NOTE: For connector, terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between BCM Grey connector, terminal No. 6 (Tan wire) and BCM Bone connector, terminal No. 8 (Violet/Brown wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Tan wire and Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  2. Measure resistance between BCM Grey connector, terminal No. 6 (Tan wire) and BCM Bone connector, terminal No. 7 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Tan wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  3. Measure resistance between BCM Grey connector, terminal No. 3 (Tan/Red wire) and BCM Bone connector, terminal No. 8 (Violet/Brown wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Tan/Red wire and Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  4. Measure resistance between BCM Grey connector, terminal No. 3 (Tan/Red wire) and BCM Bone connector, terminal No. 7 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Tan/Red wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  5. Measure resistance between BCM Bone connector, terminals No. 5 (Yellow/Red wire) and No. 8 (Violet/Brown wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Yellow/Red wire and Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  6. Measure resistance between BCM Bone connector, terminals No. 5 (Yellow/Red wire) and No. 7 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Yellow/Red wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  7. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on BCM Bone connector, terminal No. 14 (Black/Light Green wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black/Light Green wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  8. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on BCM Bone connector, terminal No. 21 (Black wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  9. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on BCM Bone connector, terminal No. 15 (Gray/Tan wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Gray/Tan wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM.
