Test SC-1D - Checking Speed Control Operation
NOTE:
Perform TEST SC-1A before proceeding.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect brake switch connector. Brake switch connector is located near top of brake pedal. Inspect brake switch connector for damaged or pushed out terminals. Repair as necessary. Perform TEST SC-VER . If wiring and connectors are okay, go to next step.
- Ensure scan tool is still actuating speed control vent solenoid. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage of speed control power supply circuit at brake switch connector. Refer to the BRAKE SWITCH CONNECTOR WIRE IDENTIFICATION . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to step 4).BRAKE SWITCH CONNECTOR WIRE IDENTIFICATION

Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of speed control power supply circuit between brake switch connector and speed control servo connector. Refer to the BRAKE SWITCH CONNECTOR WIRE IDENTIFICATION for wire color identification. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open switched speed control power supply circuit. Perform TEST SC-VER.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of the speed control power supply circuit between the brake switch connector and PCM connector terminal No. 5. Refer to the BRAKE SWITCH CONNECTOR WIRE IDENTIFICATION for wire color identification. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform TEST SC-VER . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open speed control power supply circuit between brake switch connector and PCM. Perform TEST SC-VER .
