Cranking Test

NOTE: Ensure battery is fully charged. Perform a battery load test and voltage drop test before proceeding.
  1. Connect an inductive ammeter clamp to positive battery cable. Connect voltmeter to battery. Disable ignition system by disconnecting coil pack electrical connector at coil pack.
  2. Crank starter and observe both meter readings. If readings are not within specification, repair or replace starter. Refer to TESTING - BENCH TESTS  and appropriate STARTER SPECIFICATIONS table.
