Mechanical Instrument Cluster
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Chrysler LeBaron. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Mechanical instrument cluster operates independently of the Body Control Module (BCM) with the exception of the seat belt warning light, low fuel warning light and the check gauges light. BCM turns seat belt warning light on for about 6 seconds when ignition is turned on.
When fuel level drops to approximately 2.8-3.2 gallons (including tank reserve), body controller turns on low fuel warning light. The check gauges warning light is turned on by BCM when powertrain control module issues a high temperature warning or a charging system failure via the CCD bus system.
