Bleeding Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU)
WARNING:
Bleed Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) only if HCU has been removed or if air has entered system. Ensure manual or pressure bleeding procedure is performed before bleeding HCU.
- Bleed base brake system using standard manual or pressure bleeding procedures. See BLEEDING PROCEDURES. Connect scan tool to 16-pin Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) data link connector. CCD data link connector is located under lower instrument panel, next to left kick panel. See Fig 1.
- Use scan tool to check for any stored trouble codes. If any trouble codes are present, erase them using scan tool. Follow screen prompts on scan tool to bleed anti-lock brake system. Disconnect scan tool. Perform base brake bleeding procedure. Repeat procedure until brake fluid flows clear and free of bubbles.
