Bleeding Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU)

WARNING: Bleed Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) only if HCU has been removed or if air has entered system. Ensure manual or pressure bleeding procedure is performed before bleeding HCU.
  1. Bleed base brake system using standard manual or pressure bleeding procedures. See BLEEDING PROCEDURES. Connect scan tool to 16-pin Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) data link connector. CCD data link connector is located under lower instrument panel, next to left kick panel. See Fig 1.
  2. Use scan tool to check for any stored trouble codes. If any trouble codes are present, erase them using scan tool. Follow screen prompts on scan tool to bleed anti-lock brake system. Disconnect scan tool. Perform base brake bleeding procedure. Repeat procedure until brake fluid flows clear and free of bubbles.
