Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor

CMP sensor reads slots in cam timing sprocket and provides PCM with fuel injection synchronization and cylinder identification. PCM uses this information along with crankshaft position sensor signal to determine if fuel injectors and ignition coils are properly adjusted for correct cylinders. CMP sensor is located on front of timing case cover.
