Test 1A - Vehicle Equip & CCD MBUS Communication Problem Id

  1. Connect DRB-II to Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) bus data link connector. Connector is located on left kick panel, near hood release handle. Turn ignition on. Using DRB-II, select BODY SYSTEM. If DRB-II does not display BUS OPERATIONAL, refer to BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS.
  2. If DRB-II displays BUS OPERATIONAL, select BODY COMPUTER module using DRB-II. If DRB-II displays NO RESPONSE, go to TEST 93A. If DRB-II does not display NO RESPONSE, use DRB-II to select ELECTRONIC CLUSTER module (if equipped). If DRB-II does not display BUS OPERATIONAL, go to TEST 94A  .
  3. If DRB-II displays BUS OPERATIONAL, use DRB-II to select EVIC MODULE (if equipped). If DRB-II displays NO RESPONSE, go to TEST 95A. If DRB-II does not display NO RESPONSE, use DRB-II to select ENGINE NODE module (if equipped).
  4. If DRB-II displays NO RESPONSE, go to TEST 96A  . If DRB-II does not display NO RESPONSE, use DRB-II to select SYSTEM TESTS module and then select PCM MONITOR. If DRB-II displays NO RESPONSE, go to TEST 97A  .
  5. If DRB-II does not display NO RESPONSE, check if vehicle is equipped with theft alarm. If vehicle is equipped with theft alarm, Yuse DRB-II to SELECT SYSTEM module and then THEFT ALARM. If DRB-II displays NO RESPONSE, go to TEST 98A  .
  6. If vehicle is NOT equipped with theft alarm or if DRB-II did not display NO RESPONSE in step 5), refer to DIAGNOSTIC TEST DIRECTORY table for specific diagnosis.

(1) When diagnosing a vehicle with many apparent failures, start at top of table and perform the indicated test(s). Failures may occur separately or in various combinations. After repairs, ensure that the failure or group of failures has been corrected.
